Celebrity Antiques Road Trip guests suffered a huge loss as expert Nathasha Raskin Sharp admitted “Oh, that’s sore.”
During Saturday’s (2nd August) episode of the BBC hit show, which first aired in 2023, viewers were joined by actresses and best friends Tamzin Outhwaite and Julie Graham.
The duo were assisted by picture specialist Natasha Raskin Sharp and dealer David Harper as they went on the hunt for the highest value antiques in Sussex.
The group also visited Worthington, discovering its connection to Oscar Wilde, before heading to Norfolk for the final auction.
Split off into two teams, the pair both had a budget of £400 to find some rare pieces in hopes of making a profit.
Things were not off to a good start for Julie as her first item, a gilt-bronze wall light, which she bought for £160, missed out on breaking even after it sold for £150.
Next to go under the hammer was her £25 dog portrait, which made a loss of £7. The star’s third item, a small £30 stool, also failed to make a profit after selling for £22.
Moving onto Tamzin, she was also not having much luck as her first item, delft tiles, which she bought for £60, only sold for £42. The actress was hoping her £90 ladder might grab buyers attention however the item sold for £38, making a loss of £52.
It was clear Julie was not impressed as she gasped in disbelief, expert Nathasha turned to the star and said: “Oh, that’s sore.”
After accounting for auction costs and sales losses, neither stars managed to turn a profit. Tamzin ended up with £245, while Julie fared slightly better at £320.
Although both suffered financial losses, the duo still remained in high spirits. Julie said: “We’ve all won – we’re all winners. We had a really lovely time. The actual auction, I thought, was really mind-blowing and I loved it.”
David added: “Genuinely, it’s been a glorious day.” Everyone burst out laughing as he joked: “What would you rather be doing – staying in a hot, cooped-up building or in your garden.”
